Eucalyptus is a very fast-growing and very water-consuming plant that is worldwide used for reclaiming land by forestry. This also means that for cultivating it as ornamental plant in a pot or planted in a wintergarden, a continuous and rich supply of water and fertilizer is essential. In return, Red Eucalyptus will please you with decorative leaves and aromatic fragrance that keeps the air clean and clear. Also, due to the essential oils in the leaves, insect pests are are not interested in the firm and sturdy leaves: usually, plant protection is not necessary for Eucalyptus. Although Eucalyptus is a very fast-growing tree, this should not keep owners of small winter gardens from buying one of the many sorts of Eucalyptus: they all can easily be pruned every year and reduced to the desired hight.
